My Gastein experience
Following a successful debut with around 10,000 attendees, Ö3 GASTEIN SOUNDS will return for its second edition on December 11 and 12, 2026. The ski season opener in Bad Hofgastein combines live music, winter sports, and alpine scenery for a special start to the winter season.
With Pizzera & Jaus, folkshilfe, Paul Kalkbrenner, and KARL, 2026 will once again feature a top-notch lineup spanning dialect music, indie, Austropop, and Berlin techno.

When Pizzera & Jaus and folkshilfe join forces, dialect meets humor, depth, and plenty of emotion. Under the motto “Hau di her & eine ins Leben!” (Come on over & let’s get this party started!), the two bands take the stage together to perform their music.
KARL from Vienna blends Viennese wit, indie guitar, and Austropop with heartfelt storytelling. His songs tell of long nights, encounters in small bars, hangover blues, and intense emotions—sometimes raw, sometimes melancholic, but always drawn straight from life.

Paul Kalkbrenner is one of the most influential artists in electronic music. The Berlin-based techno pioneer gained international recognition with “Berlin Calling” and “Sky & Sand.” His unmistakable live sound has been filling festivals and arenas for years—and on December 12, 2026, he’ll bring it to Ö3 GASTEIN SOUNDS in Bad Hofgastein.

Nestled amid the breathtaking mountain scenery of the Austrian Alps, Bad Hofgastein combines nature, activity, and relaxation. Whether it’s winter sports in the mountains, relaxation at the Alpentherme, musical highlights, or the lively town center —every winter day here finds its own balance. The motto here is: Nothing is a must, everything is an option.
In addition to Ö3 GASTEIN SOUNDS, there’s plenty to do in Gastein during the day as well: skiing and snowboarding, winter hiking, cross-country skiing, or tobogganing —and then a dip in the warm thermal waters. That way, a visit to the festival turns into a whole winter weekend in the mountains.
