The Tanz:Fest Gastein events are more than just a festival: they are celebrations of dance, multi-day dance events, and—for many guests—a special dance vacation in Austria. Four times a year , dance enthusiasts—singles, couples, beginners, and advanced dancers—gather in Bad Hofgastein to discover new dance styles, deepen their knowledge of familiar ones, and experience unforgettable evenings of dancing.
Tanz:Fest Gastein Winter and Summer Editions feature workshops for dance couples covering everything from Standard and Latin to Discofox, Boogie & Lindy Hop, Salsa & West Coast Swing. Top dance instructors and trainers ensure unforgettable dance experiences. The evening events offer plenty of opportunities to dance, and each one promises to be a social highlight in its own right.
Tanz:Fest Gastein Line Dance Edition — a must for all line dance fans. Both modern line dance and country line dance are on the program. Evening line dance parties and plenty of choreographies from our internationalline dance instructors.
Swing Valley Festival, dedicated entirely to West Coast Swing. The West Coast Swing community can look forward to plenty of workshops with top instructors from around the world, beginner boot camps, and social dance parties. It’s both a social event and a WSDC competition event.

The Winter Edition offers an extensive program with over 70 dance workshops in standard, Latin, Discofox, swing, boogie, and salsa. Instructors include teams from the Chris Dance School (Vienna), the Zentz Dance School (Saarland), Tanzstern Salzburg, and the Seidel Dance School (Singen)…
The festival takes place at the Bad Hofgastein Congress Center and combines training with socializing and winter activities. In addition to the daily workshops, several evening events invite you to dance and socialize—including the Welcome Party, a dance evening at the Kursaal, the mountain hut evening at Angerblick , and the “Chassé to Après” dance night.
Between dance sessions, the region offers ideal conditions for active relaxation—whether skiing, winter hiking, or at the Alpentherme Gastein. Daily yoga sessions for dancers are also included in the program.

Which workshops can I attend with my ticket?
You can attend any workshops taking place on the day your ticket is valid. You do not need to register for a workshop in advance.
What workshop levels are available? What are the prerequisites?
Prerequisites for the levels:
- B = Beginner: No prerequisites. Basic steps and simple figures are taught.
- 1 = Basic knowledge (basic steps and simple figures) of the respective dance is required
- 2 = Good knowledge of the respective dance is required
- 3 = Many years of dance experience and dance technique are required.
We ask that you choose workshops based on your own skill level. This way, you’ll get the most out of the workshops.
Where are the workshops held?
All of the workshops will take place at the Kongress Gastein convention center in Bad Hofgastein.
Is it possible to film the workshop content for personal use?
At the end of each workshop, you will have the opportunity to film the lesson content (step sequences, figures). Please note that recordings of any kind (audio, video) are permitted only during the time period specified by the dance instructors. Publishing the recordings is NOT permitted!
Do I need a dance partner for the Tanz:Fest Winter Edition?
Most workshops teach partner dances . Of course, a dance partner isn’t strictly necessary, but it does make sense to have one.
Of course, anyone can dance with anyone else—whether man and woman, woman and woman, or man and man. These days, we just talk about followers and leaders anyway. ????
I don't have a dance partner—are there any taxi dancers?
There are no “taxi dancers.”

Après-Ski Meets Ballroom: Starts at 7:30 p.m. Kursaal Bad Hofgastein
Mountain Hut Evening in the Angertal Valley: Bus departs at 6:00 p.m. from the Congress Center. Short hike to the “Angerblick” hut. Return: approx. 11:00 p.m.
Chassé to Après: 7 :30 p.m. at the Congress Center
Can I have dinner at the evening events during the Tanz:Fest Winter Edition?
At every evening event, there will be an opportunity to have at least a light meal. If you have booked dinner at your hotel but plan to eat out, don't forget to let the front desk know so they can cancel your dinner reservation.
What's the deal with the cabin night?
The mountain hut evening is a dance party at a ski hut in the Angertal valley. After a short bus ride, we’ll hike about 20 minutes to the Angerblick ski hut. A small reception awaits you, followed by a traditional mountain hut dinner (pan-fried pork ribs and Kasnockn). The reception and dinner are included in the ticket price. Drinks and any desserts, such as Kaiserschmarren, are at your own expense. And, of course, there will be plenty of dancing. We’ll make our way back to the bus on a torchlight hike.
We’ll be back at the convention center around 11:00 p.m.

The Tanz:Fest Gastein Summer Edition offers you a wide-ranging dance program. The dance teachers from Tanzschule Chris from Vienna, Tanzschule Zentz from Saarland, Tanzstern Salzburg and Tanzschule Seidel from Singen will ensure your dance progress and unforgettable dance experiences in Gastein, where the perfect summer vacation awaits you. New trainers are Patrick Seebauer and Julia Kaufmann from UTSC Dance Unity and known from Dancing Stars as well as Michael Geißler from Saalfelden.
