The mountain railroads in Gastein bring the feeling of the summit very close. Whether hiking in summer or fun on the slopes in winter: The modern lifts ensure a comfortable start to your day in the mountains. When the snow falls, the cable cars start the winter season right on time. From the end of November to the beginning of May, you can head up to perfectly groomed slopes and fantastic views every day.
The Dorfgastein-Großarl ski area combines family-friendly skiing with plenty of sporty variety. While the little ones make their first attempts on skis at GASTI snow park, on the funline, in the snow park or during ski lessons, more advanced skiers enjoy challenging runs. Atmospheric snow magic evenings, thrilling mountain cart rides and cosy mountain huts for a stop-off make the mountain experience complete.

The ski area between Bad Gastein and Bad Hofgastein offers two GASTI snow parks, family-friendly slopes and ski lessons, as well as a fun slope, snow park, fun centre and a Skimovie track. Sporting highlights such as Salzburg’s longest descent, impressive viewing platforms and inviting huts and mountain restaurants turn every ski day into a real experience.

The Graukogel stands for pure skiing enjoyment in an unspoilt mountain landscape. As a natural-snow ski area, it delights visitors with sporty runs, plenty of peace and scenic ski touring routes – ideal for anyone who prefers to experience winter in an authentic, close-to-nature way.

Sportgastein is Gastein’s high-alpine ski area for anyone looking for wide-open spaces, high altitude and sporty challenges. Demanding runs, a true freeride paradise and enjoyable spring skiing in the sun shape the experience at up to 2,700 metres. Sporti Weekends, high-alpine ski tours and the legendary summit breakfast at the “Garstenauer Kugel” make Sportgastein a place for truly special winter moments.

Summer also marks the start of the green season for the cable cars. They take excursionists to high-altitude trails with rustic Alpine pastures, via ferratas and quiet power spots - or simply closer to the sun.
The Gipfelbahn Fulseck cable car takes you comfortably up into the Gastein mountains – including bike transport in the gondola. Whether you’re looking for family-friendly themed trails, short scenic routes or longer hikes: Fulseck adventure mountain offers the right option for every outdoor fan. Highlights such as Lake Spiegelsee, the barefoot trail and thrilling mountain cart rides make for mountain experiences packed with fun.

The Schlossalmbahn cable car takes you up into a varied mountain world for all ages – relaxed and effortless. Child-friendly hiking paths, a playground and the slackline park provide plenty of fun and activity, while mountain huts along the way invite you to stop and savour the moment. The motor skills trail, a spectacular rope bridge, atmospheric evening rides and the popular Hiking Circuit Days complete the perfect mountain summer. For those seeking a challenge, there are also via ferratas in an alpine setting.

Stubnerkogelbahn cable car takes you comfortably up to one of the most scenic peaks in the Gastein valley. Breathtaking panoramic views, several viewing platforms and the impressive suspension bridge make this adventure mountain truly unique. The secured Felsenweg trail, numerous hiking paths, a cycle route and many cosy mountain huts invite you to explore and linger. Families also love the fun centre at the mountain station.

Whether you take the Graukogelbahn cable car or hike up via one of the many trails: Graukogel mountain is your gateway to a particularly unspoilt mountain landscape. Stunning views, the fragrant Swiss stone pine trail, cosy mountain huts and scenic cycle routes make this mountain a place of energy and calm for anyone who loves the silence of nature.

In October, the season may end earlier in the event of an early onset of winter.
A day on the mountain, an evening in the thermal spa - that's what a real vacation feels like. The Berge & Thermen Card combines exercise in the great outdoors with well-deserved relaxation. Valid for the entire season, can be used flexibly and is conveniently available online or on site.
The Dorfgastein cable cars open the gateway to the Grossarltal ski area. In summer, family-friendly hiking trails await, in winter extensive pistes with guaranteed snow.
Those who prefer to take it easy on the mountain can enjoy the ascent, the view and the warm atmosphere at every station.
