Bad Hofgastein

The Schmaranzhütte was built in 1947 and is located directly on the Salzburger Almenweg at 1770 m above sea level. The Schmaranzhütte is characterised by home-made specialities and is a unique location due its beautiful view. An attraction for children is the pond next to the hut.

SPECIAL ABOUT OUR FARM
The Viehauser family is the only one in the Gastein valley to brew its own organic beer, which is becoming increasingly well-known and popular.

THIS IS HOW YOU REACH US
Many paths lead to the Schmaranzhütte, for example you can park your car at the Brandebengut above the Bad Hofgastein railway station and hike along the forest road to the hut. A circular walk is also recommended, which leads via the "Sepp Poesie Weg" to the Biberalm and then to the Schmaranzhütte. You can also take the Schlossalm cable car to the middle station and then reach us via the Fundneralm. Furthermore, a path leads from Rauris over to us. Another special feature is the Guggenstein (Gugginger), one of the most beautiful view mountains in Gastein, which can only be reached via the Schmaranzhütte."
