Yoga in Gastein

It is the alternation between height and depth, mountain and valley. It is the phenomenal views and the imposing mountain backdrop that have long made the Gastein Valley a favorite destination for yoga fans. Nature reveals itself here in a wild, bizarre, untamable way - and perhaps for that very reason leads us deeper into our inner world. Everywhere in the Gastein Valley, power spots are waiting to be discovered. Alone or in a group, feel the sound of the mountains and let new goals grow out of the silence.

Gastein is the ideal starting point to awaken your inner yogi with like-minded people and fully immerse yourself in the world of asana, pranayama and meditation, protected by massive mountain giants. Exclusive indoor and outdoor yoga days , workshops with international yoga teachers, regular yoga events and numerous accommodations with individual y oga offers make the valley a paradise for all yoga levels. Namasté!

Yoga for Every Body

The yoga offerings in Gastein are as diverse as the alpine landscape.
But what exactly do Vinyasa, Hatha Yin and many other terms mean and what can you expect in these yoga classes?

Hatha Yoga

The best-known style of yoga is also the basis for most other modern yoga practices. Hatha yoga combines the sun and the moon ("Ha" and "Tha"), power and stillness. The asanas (postures) are practiced individually, mindfully and consciously, and sometimes held for some time. This makes the practice rather gentle and excellent for beginners. Closely related to Hatha Yoga is Iyengar Yoga, which focuses on exact alignment, but also Hot or Bikram Yoga, which is practiced at 35 to 40 degrees Celsius.

Vinyasa Yoga

This style of yoga developed from the classical Ashtanga Yoga, which was coined by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois at the beginning of the 20th century. This method is characterized by synchronizing the breath with the movement. This results in particularly flowing, but also dynamic movements (=yoga flow), which can sometimes be demanding.

The same idea is followed by Budokon Yoga, which gently takes you out of your comfort zone with a mix of yoga, animal moves and martial arts elements, as well as the flowing Triyoga.

Tantra Yoga

Tantra yoga is primarily about using yoga postures, but also breathing exercises (pranayama) meditation and chants (chants) to release blockages and allow energy to flow freely in the body. Closely related to the Tantra style are Kundalini and Chakra Yoga. Jivamukti Yoga combines spiritual practices with challenging asana flows reminiscent of Vinyasa and Ashtanga.

Yogatherapy

In yoga therapy, classical yoga techniques are used specifically to alleviate complaints. Relaxation and targeted activation of individual muscle groups, but also the gentle stretching of fascia and a holistic healthy and mindful lifestyle are the focus of therapeutic yoga. This includes, among others, Fascia & Hormone Yoga as well as Yin Yoga and the deeply relaxing Yoga Nidra.

TCM Yoga

The Indian and Chinese healing arts are closely linked, considering the human being as a holistic system. Lu Jong (Tibetan healing yoga), Yin Moves and Yoga Qi Flows bring together the knowledge from both worlds to increase health and well-being.

Flying Yoga

You want to overcome the force of gravity? In Acro Yoga, you build a deep connection with your practice partner while simultaneously building body tension and strength. In Aerial Yoga, you float above the ground in a sling and can playfully assume poses that might be difficult for you on the ground.
