Description

For walkers!

Kötschachtal is one of four blind valleys in Gastein. Setting out from the Grüner Baum, you will first hike into the valley to an area known as the Malerwinkel (literally “’Painters’ Corner”, site of romantic old farmsteads), then to the breathtaking Himmelwand (towering crags of granite gneiss). You will follow a wide path through high forest, with glorious views of the Tischler Group, and after about one hour you will reach Alpengasthof Prossau elev. 1,278 m.
