The JBBG – JAZZ BIGBAND GRAZ has established a solid place in the European jazz landscape over the years. However, alongside the impressive large ensemble, the group showcases with its smaller formation, the JBBG Smål, how multifaceted and innovative modern jazz can be. Founded in 2018 by Horst-Michael Schaffer and Heinrich von Kalnein, the quintet embodies the essence of the big band in the smallest space – full of musical finesse and with ample room for spontaneous creativity.
With their new album “Fruits of Passion & Sorrow”, the musicians present a collection of expressive pieces carried by emotion and dynamics. The album combines groovy rhythms, lyrical melodies, and musical experimentation into a captivating listening experience.
