The 28-year-old Vorarlberg native Gregor Storf is considered a major, multi-talented rising star of Austrian jazz. As a tenor saxophonist, he impressed – nominated by the Ö1 Jazz editorial team – in May 2025 as part of the Euroradio Jazz Orchestra of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) in Ljubljana. His skills as a drummer are also highly regarded, and as a pianist, Storf possesses well-developed knowledge.
His quintet “Partners in Time” represents an ensemble whose music has grown from years of shared experience. Saxophonist and composer Gregor Storf, rooted in Vorarlberg and active internationally from an early age, connects musicians who have developed a common language over the years.
Storf has long played with Philipp Zarfl on double bass and Urs Hager on piano; Chris Parker on drums has been a significant musical companion for many years. The quintet is completed by trumpet player Max Wintersperger, whose mature musical voice, despite his youth, adds additional depth to the ensemble.
This band sees itself as a place where Gregor Storf’s original compositions grow, change, and find their form in the moment. The focus is on interaction: attentive, open, and driven by a deep connection to jazz tradition. This creates music that springs vibrantly from the moment while also appearing timeless.
The concert will take place on our terrace in good weather or at Kaiser-Franz-Platz / in case of bad weather, we will hold the concert at the BLÜ-Bar.
