This guided Bike & Hike tour combines athletic challenges with impressive views and a true summit feeling.
From Dorfgastein, we start on the bike and initially ride uphill along shady forest paths through idyllic mountain landscapes. Along the way, we pass the Amoseralm at about 1,200 meters above sea level – a place that later awaits a cozy stop.
However, the real destination lies even higher: The forest road steadily climbs further, gradually becoming more challenging until we finally reach the first stage of our tour above the tree line.
Here, we switch from bike to foot and continue along a scenic hiking trail. Our goal is the Hahnbalzköpfl at 1,862 meters, whose ridge rewards us with a magnificent panorama. The view extends far over the Gastein Valley all the way to the Salzachtal. Particularly impressive is the steep slope leading up to the prominent Bernkogel (2,325 m) – one of the most distinctive peaks above Dorfgastein.
After a lengthy summit break, we head back down. Those who wish can end the day at the Amoseralm and enjoy regional specialties. Whether sweet Pofesen or hearty Brettljause – here, true culinary pleasure awaits, and the tour concludes cozily.
