All year round, the valley resonates with the sound of music. The event calendar offers a rich selection for music lovers – from performances by the three traditional brass bands and local choirs to international music festivals.
A valley as a resonant stage
Two concert series have become special audience favourites. The winter festival Snow Jazz Gastein brings renowned jazz acts to the snowy mountains, while Berg:Klassik fills the alpine summer with moving melodies. Other highlights include Klassiksommer Gastein, the charming chanson festival “Veronika, der Lenz ist da” at Pentecost and the international Music in the Alps festival.
Another special format is Musik:Wohnzimmer Gastein, which transforms the centre of Bad Hofgastein into a cosy open-air living room with fireside flair and intimate concert vibes. And for lovers of classical music, Kurorchester Bad Gastein, performing since 1947, continues to delight audiences with its summer concerts at Alpenarena.

Music is a living part of Gastein’s culture. At alpine festivals, harvest celebrations or during Bauernherbst, music takes centre stage. When the brass bands start to play, locals and visitors dance side by side, turning the valley into a grand stage for tradition and togetherness. Diverse music and concert locations
Each of Gastein’s three villages has its own distinctive sound. Bad Hofgastein enchants with events at the Kursaal and on the Kurpark stage, often accompanied by the local brass band. Bad Gastein, with its concert pavilion and elegant halls, is a hub for classical music lovers. And Dorfgastein delights visitors with atmospheric open-air concerts on its charming village square in summer.
