My Gastein experience
The Graukogel is known for its particularly beautiful and ancient larch forest, with some trees being 250-300 years old. Therefore, a stroll of about 45 minutes directly at the top station of the Graukogelbahn is recommended. Take a break at idyllic spots, use the individual seating made of larch wood for a short pause, or try our large outdoor larch bed! Larch wood also has the effect of lowering heart rate. This promotes relaxation, as the larch truly touches all the senses.
“We are aiming for a completely different positioning with our “Larch Magic” for the Graukogel," says Franz Schafflinger, CEO of Gasteiner Bergbahnen. “Here, nature is at the center of the development of our offerings.” Unique is the larch forest that is two to three hundred years old located in close proximity to the mountain station, which also lies in an idyllic landscape with stunning views over the Gastein valley. “We want to provide our guests with a new nature experience where they can feel, smell, taste, and drink the larch,” says Schafflinger. For this purpose, the Larch Trail has been developed – a circular path starting and ending at the mountain station of the Graukogelbahn.
