From the Bad Gastein spa and tourism association, head north into the promenade. Surrounded by leafy and coniferous trees, you ride along the promenade until you reach the railway crossing. This is where the ascent to Hinterschneeberggut begins. Continue downhill on the asphalt road and after a while you pass the turnoff to the Bertahoftrail. Follow the road and turn off towards the valley at the next road junction. At the Durzbauer distillery, turn right towards Bertahof. Follow the trail to the Gastein bathing lake. Here you follow the signs for the Gasteinertal cycle path and cycle in a southerly direction through the centre of Bad Gastein, past the waterfall, back to the starting point.
