It is a time when the region's traditions and customs take center stage. Farmers proudly present their craftsmanship, harvest produce and culinary specialties.

Discover the diversity of rural culture and take part in traditional festivals. Old customs such as the harvest festival and the cattle drive are lovingly preserved and show the connection between the people of Gastein and their homeland.

The Harvest Festival is a time of community, celebration and remembrance of the roots and traditions of this picturesque Alpine region.

Two anniversaries, one big celebration weekend!

Friday, August 22 - 40 years of Dorf:Fest

The start of the anniversary weekend begins when the village street is transformed into an atmospheric festival mile at 5.00 pm.

A varied supporting program, the parade of the TMK Strochner youth and good music ensure a great atmosphere until late in the evening.

An evening full of tradition, community and genuine joie de vivre!

Saturday, August 23: 30 years of Salzburger Bauernherbst

Anniversary opening in Dorfgastein - G'sungen & G'spielt

The Salzburger Bauernherbst celebrates its 30th anniversary with the state-wide opening in Dorfgastein. Under the motto "G'sungen und G'spielt", a festival full of customs, musical diversity and joie de vivre awaits you on Saturday, August 23, 2025 .

The official start of the Salzburg Harvest Festival beginsat 10:00 am - with the big parade as the undisputed highlight of the weekend!

Magnificently decorated floats, proud herdsmen, four music bands, numerous clubs and guests of honor from past decades parade through the village street and express the diversity of the region.

After the speeches, the beer is ceremoniously tapped, followed by 4 bands providing a hearty morning pint.

Afterwards, local folk music groups provide atmospheric entertainment under the motto "G'sungen & G'spielt" - for singing, dancing and partying along until late in the evening.

 

A varied supporting program offers variety and entertainment.

Culinary delights & children's program

There will also be plenty to enjoy on both days.
