A new place for literature in the Gastein Valley, many new chapters for the Alpine Casual Hotel: the BücherBühneBlü brings together authors, readers, and the curious. Starting in May 2026, a series of exciting literary encounters will take place, where books are read, discussed, and explored further.
The series kicks off on May 16, 2026, with journalist and author Florian Klenk, who will read from his new Blauensteiner book.
What is he most looking forward to? “The silence during reading,” says Klenk, because in noisy times, that has become a magical moment.
More evenings are already planned: on September 19, 2026, curator Petra Hartlieb will be a guest herself and present her new book.
The idea of hosting a literary event at the hotel has been around for quite some time—not least in the BLÜ’s hotel library, which was entirely curated by host Eva Eder. Here, guests of the Gastein boutique hotel can stock up on books during their stay or simply browse in peace. “Literature has always been an important theme in our house,” Eva explains. With the BücherBühneBlü, it now gains a new stage—and further enriches the hotel’s blossoming cultural scene, which is also known beyond the region for its carefully curated summer jazz program.
