At the listed historic Montanmuseum Altböckstein, the history and technology of gold mining have been brought back to life.

The special exhibition “Miners, Gold & Resistance”, along with historic gold ore processing facilities, discoveries from the tunnels, and models of old gold-mining equipment, offers insight into the significant history of gold and silver mining in the Gastein Valley — a story shaped by wealth and the hardest of labor.
