Location of the accommodation
At the village square of the romantic mining settlement Alt Böckstein, in the middle of the Gastein mountains, you will find the official residence of the former mining administration, built in 1780, and today's Hotel Rader.
Quiet and idyllic, the hotel is perfectly situated for a varied vacation in Gastein. Starting point for hiking, cross-country skiing and revitalization, the hotel is located 3 minutes walk from the bus and ski bus stop and 2.5 km from the center of Bad Gastein. In a few minutes drive you can reach the Gasteiner Bergbahnen, the Felsentherme, as well as stores and restaurants in Bad Gastein.

Winter in Gastein
In front of the hotel is the entrance to one of the longest cross-country skiing trails in the Gastein Valley, which is
also in the evening with floodlight animates to the sport. Winter vacation in Gastein means perfectly groomed slopes, long downhill runs and guaranteed snow. Sportgastein, the highest skiing area in Salzburger Land is easily and quickly accessible from Hotel Rader by bus or car. Fairytale winter hiking trails await you right outside our front door.

Many hiking trails, from easy hikes to challenging day tours start right in front of our house. Enjoy the wonderful nature, silence and tranquility. For walkers, the Elisabeth Promenade, a beautiful path from Böckstein to Bad Gastein, starts at our hotel. The Gastein Valley offers a variety of activities, from biking, golfing to gold panning and paragliding - summer vacation in Gastein - you will not find so much variety in any other valley.
