This is where the mountain carts set off toward the middle station, while the Sky Swing and the Dachsteinblick observation deck offer breathtaking views of the Gastein mountains.
The summit also features a paragliding launch site and play areas for children. Hiking trails lead from here to Dorfgastein and into the Großarltal valley.
Hauserbauer’s Gipflstadl, located right on the plateau, is the perfect spot to stop for a break, offering regional cuisine and panoramic views.

The barefoot trail winds around the lake and even runs through the water for a short stretch, allowing you to experience nature with all your senses. Nearby, you’ll also find a forest playground with a water play area and the “Himmelsschaukel” (Sky Swing), which serves as a lookout point.

Right next to the mid-station, the Reiterhütte invites you to stop in for a break.
Numerous hiking trails start here, ranging from short walks to longer hikes. This makes the midway station particularly well-suited for families and leisurely hikes.

Steep, steeper, Beinhoat. Austria’s steepest challenge awaits in Dorfgastein. Be there live as athletes tackle the 1,200 metres of elevation gain between the valley and mountain stations of the Fulseck Gipfelbahn.
A very friendly lady at the ticket office helped us choose the right ticket. She knew which line was running and how we could continue our journey. That’s not something one can take for granted these days. Thank you for that.
The Fulseck cable car in Dorfgastein takes us up to over 2,000 metres. Once at the top, a stunning panoramic view of the Alps unfolds before us. Paragliders take off from here, and there’s a playground for children. It’s not far down to the Spiegelsee from there. The climb or the cable car ride is definitely worth it, especially with children.
