Hut hikes: Gastein Trail

1 trail, 6 stages, 75 kilometers and 4,643 meters of altitude. These are the bare figures of the Gastein Trail. But there is much more behind them than just great climbs, high-altitude trails with a view or a magnificent ascent. On the hiking tours that you experience as part of the Gastein Trail, the Gastein Valley presents itself from its most beautiful side. Wide meadows and dark green forests show themselves in interplay with high alpine terrain and imposing peaks. In between, you will repeatedly encounter charming alpine huts on your hike, which invite you to take a break.

Six day hikes lead through the Gastein Valley

In six daily stages, the route of the Gastein Trail leads hikers from Dorfgastein high above Bad Gastein back to Bad Hofgastein. Hiking from hut to hut between idyllic alpine pastures and wild peaks gives you strength. In the unique mountain world between Salzburg and Carinthia you can really enjoy your vacation.

Description of the individual stages of the Gastein Trail, the multi-day tour:

Stage 1 - Ascend between idyllic alpine pastures and wild peaks.
Stage 2 - Recharge amidst picturesque kettle landscapes and rustic mountain wilderness.
Stage 3 - Enjoy the panoramic view high above the Gastein Valley.
Stage 4 - Hike through blooming alpine meadows and dense forests.
Stage 5 - On the tracks of the gold miners towards the Hohe Tauern National Park.
Stage 6 - Accompanied by impressive nature and the historical heritage of the imperial era.

In the Gastein Valley you can acquire hiking pins not only on day hikes, but also along the Gastein Trail. In digital form with the SummitLynx app, these can be purchased, the hiking pin is a nice souvenir of the multi-day tour. Each stage has a certain number of points.
