Hoteldorf Grüner Baum

The main building was built in 1929, initially just a place for diners to enjoy a menu of hearty snacks. Over the years that followed, more and more adjacent buildings were added: the Landhaus in 1928, the Kösslerhaus in 1932, stables and a residential building (1929 - 1931), all under master builder Franzmair. The laying of a new pipeline taking thermal water to Kötschachtal (1959) made it possible to build a thermal indoor pool in 1969. In 1970, Hannes Blumschein took over the hotel through marriage and continued to expand it. In 2000, the Reiterbauer property was also purchased by the Blumschein family. The hotel stopped accepting guests in 2016.

The takeover of the hotel village by Leipziger Stadtbau AG now gives hope for an early opening, and the planning for this is progressing.
