Information about the Event:
Bad Gastein is hosting the Ski Classics prologue again this winter - a series of classic cross-country skiing races taking place all over Europe!
Under the title "Gastein Classics", Bad Gastein joins the top destinations of cross-country skiing, because well-known races such as the Wasalauf, the Birkebeiner Race or the Marcialonga, which have achieved cult status in their respective nations and are known far beyond their national borders, are also part of the Ski Classics race series.
Sportgastein, surrounded by the Hohe Tauern National Park, will host the prologue, the opening event of the race series, from 8-10 December 2023.
The athletes of the 35 Pro Teams run comparatively short distances (15 km at the team event on Saturday and 35 km at the individual race on Sunday).
Amateur runners also have the chance to compete with others in Sportgastein: This is possible in the two amateur races on Saturday afternoon and you can choose between the distances of 15 km or 30 km.
