Guided hike: Niedersachsenhaus

Minimum number of participants: 2

This hike begins in the high valley of Sportgastein, leading along the Siglitztal valley bottom, which used to bean Eldorado for goldminers.

The Niedersachsenhaus (a staffed hut) can already be seen – enthroned on the summit like a castle. The hike up the Hermann Bahlsen Weg requires good shoes and, at some points, a head for heights. The destination is in view – and finally we are there. The view of the Schareck and Sonnblick awaits the desire of the alpinists.

We can also clearly see the valley head of Rauris, Kolm Saigurn. Now following the Senator-Berndorf-Weg, we continue to two alpine gaps, the Kolmkarscharte and the Bockhartscharte – the fantastic views of the Ankogel and Goldberg groups are breathtaking.

Our hike down takes us past the Bockhartseen and back to Sportgastein.
