Why Gastein gives "Greeting the Sun" a whole new meaning.
Yoga is healthy. Outdoors it's even healthier. And set against the backdrop of the majestic Hohe Tauern mountains, it becomes a true source of power and a very special experience indeed. Twice a year, you can take part in Gastein's yoga days, experience new and familiar Asanas together, practice breathing techniques, and find peace and strength through a series of flowing motions. Timeouts like these are especially important in such hectic and fast-paced times. No wonder, then, that Gastein's yoga days have grown to become one of the biggest yoga events in all of Europe, offering yoga for every level. Are you in the mood to "Breathe the Mountains" in Gastein? For further details about what this event is all about, check out our report on Yoga Spring in our Gastein Blog.

Around 40 yoga teachers from Austria and Germany lead some 300 yoga sessions over the course of barely two weeks. And not only in yoga rooms - in Gastein, nature becomes one gigantic yoga studio. Yoga on a platform by the waterfall, next to Mirror Lake on the Fulseck, or on the summit of the Stubnerkogel with glorious views of the 3,000ers of Hohe Tauern National Park. Here, where you are closer to the sun than perhaps anywhere else, "greeting the sun" takes on a whole new meaning.
