Chamber music-cycle

Topics: Gastein TV | Kultur | Event | Konsert

Information about the Event:

This year's motto of the popular music series is "Wiener Melange".

On the occasion of several anniversaries of renowned composers who lived and worked in the European cultural metropolis of Vienna, this year's chamber music series is dedicated to the music that has conquered the entire world from Vienna. To name just a few important personalities, this year we celebrate, for example, Joseph Hadyn (290th birthday), Franz Schubert (225th birthday), Johannes Brahms (125th death anniversary) or Carl Michael Ziehrer (100th death anniversary):
All these great names had their centre of life in Vienna at some point in their lives. These names have also been known in our latitudes for a long time and were already very popular in Bad Gastein's spa concerts a good hundred years ago.

In a tried and tested manner, well-known classical ensembles from Salzburg and the surrounding area will take up this theme and breathe new life into the time-honoured music of Vienna in a wide variety of formations. In a whimsical atmosphere, every Wednesday evening you will be served a mélange of the enchanting Viennese music of past centuries and interesting anecdotes about the famous jubilarians. A feast for the ears all along the line!
