Wald:Klassik - forest concert

The damp, earthy smell of the moss interweaves with the sounds of the oboe, the fern gently sways in time and the birds underscore the melody with a powerful crescendo.

"The forest suggests listening", Hermann Hesse once said, and so it seems only fitting when a small ensemble of the Salzburg Philharmonic goes out to make Gastein's forests resound together with music lovers. Works by Bach, Pachelbel, Mozart, Haydn, Grieg, Bernstein and many other composers are on the programme. The atmosphere between fir trees, spruces and larches, cracking branches and rustling treetops is intense, the ambience intimate with no more than 40 people in the audience and full of inspiration.
