Information about the Event:

500 years of the Peasants' War

500 years ago, during the Peasants' War in Austria, Klammstein Castle played a strategic role as a defence point for the Gastein Valley. It served as a refuge for aristocratic troops and as a control point for the important trade and supply route through the valley. Even if there was no direct fighting at the castle, its presence was a symbol of the prince's power against the rebellious peasants. S
