Jazz in the heart of Bad Gastein: For many music lovers, the concert series “summer.jazz.in.the.city” is one of the most beautiful open-air events in Gasteinertal. And a highlight on everyone’s event calendar! This year, yet again, from 28th of June until 30th of August 2023 jazz sounds will sweeten those languid summer evenings in the Merangarten.

Over the years, this summery concert series has made a name for itself, even far beyond the immediate region. Locals, guests, music- and jazz fans from around the world gather in the tradition-rich Merangarten of Bad Gastein, in order to experience “summer.jazz.in.the.city” live. But it isn’t only audiences that are international. The jazz musicians are, too. From big names of the Austrian jazz scene to innovative young jazz acts and rising stars of the Austrian and international jazz world: This Gastein Jazz Festival is certain to be a feast for everybody’s ears.

The program of summer jazz in the city definitely has a lot in store for guests yet again. From Jazz and Ethno to Funk & Blues – the events are every bit as colorful and diverse as jazz itself. The power behind the overall program is concert organizer “Jazz im Sägewerk”, a name that is well known, not only in the jazz community. This venue, which was established in the year 2000, has since become one of the most important jazz meccas in all of Austria.

Make yourself comfortable on the benches and chairs in the Merangarten, or stake out a romantic plot of ground beneath the trees. Then enjoy a balmy summer evening along with a free jazz concert under the open skies!
