The Türchlwand is yet another summit that’s easy to reach from the Schlossalmbahn mountain station. Passing the Schlossalmsee, the path brings you to the mountain station of the Weitmoser Lift, which only runs in winter. The trail then leads across gently undulating terrain before reaching the Lugenscharte. In winter, the avalanche danger here is extreme, which you will probably realize when you see all of the blasting equipment. The alpine trail now runs up the western side of the mountain to the summit. The arduous hike up is rewarded by imposing views of the Glockner and Goldberg groups in the distance, and of the Hochkönig Massif.
