The tour starts in the Dorfgastein municipal park, the official hiking and biking starting point, and leads along Dorstraße in the direction of the tourist office. From there, follow the signs to the Hauserbauer mountain hotel. After the Hauserbauer hiking starting point, the trail turns into the idyllic Gruberwaldweg, which runs through picturesque alpine meadows and dense forests.
The cosy forest road leads steadily uphill to a fork, where the path continues left to the Heumoosalm. The rustic hut not only offers a well-deserved break, but also a special view of the Gastein mountains. A short detour to the Grabnerhütte is worthwhile, as it marks the highest point of this enjoyable tour.
The descent leads past the Wengeralm, where cosy sun loungers invite you to relax. At the middle station of the Dorfgastein cable cars, the Reiterhütte offers another opportunity to savour regional delicacies. The Gruberwaldweg finally takes you down into the valley, with a final stop at the Mühlwinkelhütte before the tour ends back in Dorfgastein.
This varied tour combines enjoyable cycling with fantastic views and warm alpine culture.
