Information about the Event:

On Saturday, August 9, 2025, and Sunday, August 10, 2025, gold panning will take place in Sportgastein during the Nassfelder Almfest!

Meeting point: Gold panning stand
Time: 10 AM - 4 PM

Although gold mining in Gastein has long ceased, you can still try your luck and go treasure hunting today.

Behind Hotel Evianquelle in Böckstein there is a natural gold panning site as well as a gold panners cottage. A large shelter with gold washing throughs was also built, to enble gold panning also in rainy weather. For a small fee, you will get a pair of gold panners boots, a gold mining bowl as well as a vial in order to collect the gold.

Duration approx.: 2 h (anytime between 10 am - 2 pm)
