Wald:Klassik Gastein

"The forest suggests listening", Hermann Hesse once said, and so it seems only fitting when a small ensemble of the Salzburg Philharmonic Orchestra sets out to make Gastein's forests resound together with music lovers. The classical music event takes place in various places in nature and provides a unique ambience. The trees provide pleasant shade, the green of the leaves soothes the soul. Everyone listens intently to the concert, while all around the atmosphere of the forest has an effect on you. There is something mystical about making music in the natural space of the forest.

Conductor Elisabeth Fuchs, who is the curator of Wald:Klassik Gastein, believes the time has come for this new way of enjoying music and says: "Get out into nature and enjoy music: The new Wald:Klassik concept fits perfectly into this time." Admission to all Wald:Klassik music events is free!

Find peace and relaxation between the leaves and tree trunks, all the while enjoying culture in its most beautiful forms – courtesy of the new events series Wald:Klassik. The driving forces behind this new concept are the regional tourist offices of Gastein Valley in cooperation with Philharmonie Salzburg. All concerts take place in a small, exclusive milieu – which applies to artists and visitors alike. In each case, the ensemble provided by Philharmonie Salzburg will consist of no more than 6 musicians, while the number of visitors is limited to a maximum of 40 people. That said, registration through the corresponding local tourist office is required. 

Entire Gastein Valley, including the towns of Bad Hofgastein, Bad Gastein and Dorfgastein, becomes the venue for classical concerts in the forests.
