Information about the Event:

Perched on the Gamskarkogel is one of the oldest refuge huts in Europe to be erected purely for the use of mountaineers.
Time on trail: appx. 5 hours, gain: 700 m/ loss: 700 m

In fact, Archduke John had the hut built in 1828. Setting out from Kötschachtal, you will follow the trail in the direction of the Poserhöhe, then continue over a number of small streams to the Tofererscharte. Crossing lush alpine meadows, you will finally reach the summit at 2,467 meters. A fantastic panoramic view of the surrounding mountains rewards every drop of sweat you spilled during the hike up. You will hike back down into a cirque at the Rastötzenalm and finally return to Bad Hofgastein.

Transfer: by taxi to Rastötzenalm and back

Dress appropriate to the demands of the hike - hiking boots with a good tread are necessary!
