Irena Portenko follows in Schubert's footsteps and presents "Herbst:Klassik" with selected ensembles.
Schubert’s life in Gastein was one of the most prolific episodes in his career and personal journey, while having been inspired by the beautiful Alps. Schubert was able to translate its beauty to the most vivid and multiple spectrums of his sound palette that is unique and always recognizable as that of Schubert’s and none else’s.
During the second weekend of October, Bad Gastein will host a musical sharing, featuring performances of some of Schubert’s eternally beloved pieces, including “Die Forelle” Quintet, “Winterreise” as well as his piano music. The musical performances, organized by Dr. Prof. Irena Portenko and performed together with internationally renowned musicians, will take place from 11.-13.10.1024.
Post-concert receptions will let you meet with the artists, who will be eager to share about their inseparable connection with the music of the composer whose life became an enigma for many historians, performers and listeners.
This event will also feature an afternoon tea with Schubert, hosted by Concert Pianist, Professor and Musicologist Karin Wagner of the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, who will present stories about Schubert’s life and creative ideas conceived in Gastein.
