The Gastein Valley away from the Slopes
When was the last time you built a snowman? Or got into an all-out snowball fight with friends? Or left your own tracks in the freshly fallen snow? Get away from the ski slopes and discover Gastein from a totally new perspective!
Do you love the tranquillity and remoteness of the countryside? Then a snowshoe hike is exactly what you are looking for! During one of our guided tours, which are offered all winter long here in the Gastein Valley, you will trudge uphill across sun-drenched hillsides and through glistening snows. The animals of the forest were the only creatures here before you, as evidenced by the tracks you may run across from time to time.
Things become a little less contemplative when it's time to sled! Perched on wooden toboggans, which were used in earlier days to transport hay through the mountains, you will shoot at breakneck speed down towards the valley. If mom and dad want to catch up with the kids, they'll need to keep perfect balance and find the ideal line! A sledding expedition becomes a truly special experience if you wait until after nightfall.
Too strenuous for you? Then why not enjoy a horse-drawn sleigh ride! With the steam rising from their nostrils and flanks, those mild-mannered, four-legged creatures will trot onwards through the snow-covered winter countryside and the magical winter forest. Wrapped in thick blankets, you will be able to enjoy the closeness of those nearest and dearest to you, while the sleigh bells jingle to their own romantic rhythm...
