More Sports
Gastein’s sporting universe also has so much to offer tennis fans – open-air courts set amid magical landscapes, along with indoor courts as well. Feel like fishing for your own dinner? Then why not follow in the footsteps of St. Peter himself and see if you can land a big fat fish! At the mini-golf courses in Bad Gastein and Bad Hofgastein, or on the archery trail, you can put your concentration and marksmanship to the test while enjoying the good company of friends and family. Horseback is the happiest place on Earth, or so the saying goes. That is definitely the case as you sit perched atop the Icelandic horses of Gastein. Extended trekking expeditions are sure to set your pulse racing with excitement! And when evening sets in, what better way to wind down a sports-filled day than with a convivial game of bowling.

Fishing
Gastein’s fishing waters are a top tip amongst angling aficionados – a true fishing paradise in some of the purest waters in all of Austria. The catch list features an array of top-quality game species, including brook trout and char. Time and again, salmon trout are pulled out of the Gasteiner Ache weighing as much as 4 kg – and we guarantee that’s not just another fisherman’s yarn!
Day permits and information on the fishing waters are available from Mr. Ellmauer, Tel. +43/06434/2833, or from the Rieser Family, Tel. +43/6433/7282. We hope you land the big one!
Mini Golf
The whole family can look forward to all the fun of mini golf on the originally designed mini-golf courses at the Mozartplatz in Bad Gastein and next to the tennis court in Bad Hofgastein.
Archery
Work on your strength and concentration as you hone your skills on the archery parcours at the Waldgasthof Angertal in Bad Hofgastein. After a short orientation session, you will set out on the Gastein Valley’s only HUNTING BOW PARCOURS, which begins directly next to the Waldgasthof and leads you along an idyllic forest path on a hunt for true-to-life replicas of wild animals. With each animal you “bring down” with your bow and arrow, you will earn points as your reward.
They have bows for hunters, big and small, to borrow, ensuring you will be armed with the ideal equipment. The parcours takes about 1.5 hours to complete.
The hunting season begins at Whitsuntide and ends in mid October, though our “animals” are granted a brief reprieve every Tuesday (when we are closed).
