In July and August, the Pongi Holiday Club in Dorfgastein opens its doors to children ages 4-12. From Monday through Friday between 10:00 and 4:00, Pongi will undertake all kinds of exciting activities with the kids! Is today the day for a treasure hunt, or are we going to hunt for a scary castle ghost? Is it time for the Kids’ Olympics, for Indian Day or Pirate Day? Or will the youngsters head off with Pongi to bake bread at an area hill farm? Will the fairy, Edda, be waiting there to share her legends of the Gastein Valley? The variety-packed activity programme offers these and even more exciting adventures each and every day! At the Pongi Holiday Club, your children are in the safe, skilled hands of trained child-care staff, while you can quietly relax, play golf, bike, try your hand at archery or head out on a hill-country hike.
Come with your children and experience a hike in search of fairy tales and herbs, see what life is like on our hill farms and enjoy the laughter of your little ones as they play with the animals. Or go a little crazy and splash around wildly in the Family Solar Pool! Simply experience the joy of having fun together!
Gastein’s family-friendly mountain inns have created separate play areas for the children. While you get to enjoy a well-earned break and refreshments out on the sunny terrace, your children are probably already out and about on those lush alpine meadows, enjoying the colorful flowers and butterflies, romping about in the fresh, fragrant mountain air. Enjoy the mountains, the rocks, the meadows and mountain streams, accompanied by the scents of mountain hay, freshly baked bread and the campfire.
Another great family tip is to go on a Lama Trekking Tour amongst the idyllic mountain scenery in Gastein. After a short introductory and informative talk about how to handle Lamas as a pack animal, this rare in this country friendly animal will be saddled and laden with rucksacks. Together with our knowledgeable guides, we are off on an easy trek to the Riedl Alm in Bad Hofgastein, where a traditional hearty buffet is waiting.
